The lady obligingly posed in the second pair of glasses but the inventor noticed that she looked distracted.

"The pink glasses are a fine blend with your dress. Can you give me another pose?"

"I'm sorry but this does not seem to work"

"The inventor produced another pair of glasses from the pizza box.

"You might like this purple pair. Exactly the color of your dress"

To his disappointment, the lady did not even look at the purple glasses. He put them back in the box.

"Is there anything wrong with your eyesight in the pink glasses?"

"No, it's not that. I'm a bit worried about my songs. Can we return to the main theme?"

"Of course we can. This brief photo shoot was just a bit of fun but you did great"

The inventor produced two antique glasses from the box.

"Do you fancy giving these a try? Do you have any songs from say 1900 in your repertoire?"

"Yes, lots of them. I love the Gilbert and Sullivan songs but they are 1880's.  And of course the George M. Cohan songbook, but his songs are late 1910's. One of my favorite songs from 1900 is School Days. And I love Little brown Jug. Nice and jaunty, that one"

"Shall we head for that medieval fortification in the background? Or do you prefer returning to the stage?"

"I see my stage has just been taken by a group of youngsters. The fortification is better, don't you think? We need a setting from the old days". She handed the pink glasses to the inventor and then produced her own glasses.

"Changing glasses has almost become a routine. It's really a piece of cake"

"That's the spirit. Let's go and see what the distant past has in store for us. And if that doesn't work, we still have the late 1950's"
