It seems that nowadays many young people need bifocals and that this is caused by the excessive use of tiny displays. While this certainly makes sense in theory, this problem clearly has not presented itself in the Netherlands. At least, I can only recall very sporadic sightings. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with asking young models to pose in lined bifocals. They are simply showing glasses from the past in documentaries about the history of frame design and lenses. And of course there is something interesting and even at times attractive in the contradiction.
