Glasses symphony in red.... But let's concentrate on the pair Nicole is wearing here. The name of the frame is Beauty Lady (an apt choice) and the lenses are closest to the model's own prescription. As stated before, it was quite easy to select glasses through which she could see well with her left eye. By contrast, I failed to find any pairs with the proper prescription for the right eye. The reason was astigmatism and especially the axis of the -1.25 cylinder required. The right lens in the Beauty Lady glasses has no cylinder but the sphere strength (+1.25) is about halfway the minimum and the maximum in the model's prescription. The first owner of the glasses may have been longsighted just like Nicole but it's more likely that they were only used as readers. If my assumption is right, it's possible that the lady in question got a prescription that enabled her to use her glasses for two close distances. Call it improvising the effect of progressives at a very low cost. The alternative possibility is that her right eye was slightly shortsighted or her left eye was slightly longsighted. The Beauty Lady glasses were not featured in any of my previous photo shoots.
