In the Netherlands, the year 1988 marked the abrupt end of the big frames. A rather boring retro style took over. Tiny frames. The transition came later in the surrounding countries and it was also more diffuse. Silhouette bravely tried to face the storm and they kept to their own style till the mid 1990's.
Here Chanel is showing a nice example. These glasses were acquired fifteen years ago in Austria, not far from the Silhouette headquarters. Chanel is the first model posing in this pair.
