Dana 065
Posing as a "Lady behind crystal veil" implies a journey through the decades. Here Dana is showing the looks of a beautiful woman in her late twenties way back in 1960. Wearing pearls was standard in those days. Dana kindly met my request to appear in pearls. Very chic indeed.
The Minerva glasses are a cornerstone under my collection. The classic cat eye era depicted in a single photo. This is the style that graced the faces of many girls and women in my schoolboy days. Mind you, there was a ban upon women wearing glasses full time in those days unless they were too handicapped to function without heir glasses. Glasses below minus four were carried in handbags most of the time. The first contact lenses only appeared on the scene in 1967.
There was no such thing as variation in frame size. If your PD was narrow or wide, you had bad luck. Fortunately Dana has a PD of 65 which is just within the aesthetic limits for the Minerva glasses. Two dozen models posed in them before Dana. The Minerva pair was also shown during catwalks in the Netherlands and in Germany. The names of the models in question were Mieke and Farishta.
