Tereza 042

A thorough preparation and clear communication beforehand are cornerstones under any good photo shoot. The email exchange with Tereza was no exception. One of my requests was that she would arrive in glasses or at least have her glasses with her upon arrival. Tereza replied that she did not have glasses in her current prescription. We agreed that she could use the glasses that would give her the best eyesight during the fitting session at the selection table. Problem solved.
So here you see Tereza sporting a pair of Zenni glasses made ten years ago, just before the invasion of the black hipster style that put an end to two decades of dull retro glasses (1989 - 2008). She was wearing these when we walked from the apartment towards the park and also on our way back to the apartment after the photo shoot.
These Zenni glasses have a history of their own. They were part of the fee for one of my very first models. Back then I offered amateur models the choice between a fee or free Zenni glasses ordered in her own prescription. All models posed in a selection of newly arrived Zenni glasses near the end of their photo shoot. All these Zenni pairs were fitted with lenses of -8.00. The models made their frame choice after seeing their photos.
One of these models soon became a favorite among the followers of my weblog. Farishta was often called "The Mona Liza in glasses". Her prescription was L: -6.25 / R: -5.75; c-0.25 v. In other words, almost identical with Tereza's prescription.
Farishta soon found out that the glasses with the little roses on the arms were too narrow for her face. She gave me the glasses so that they could be used in future photo shoots. This happened twice, first with Lucy (124) in 2011 and five years later with Clare (063) in Berlin. Now Tereza is joining their ranks. Isn't it a wonderful coincidence that all four models have an almost identical prescription and a fairly compatible PD?
