Note the graciously curved shape of the arms of the frame, shown here by Tereza upon my request. All of a sudden these glasses seemed to be everywhere in the streets, shortly after my move from Amsterdam to Enschede during the winter of 1980 / 1981. Middle aged women, grannies but also quite a few young women.... Rodenstock clearly had a bestseller with this E 524 frame. It came in two sizes and in two slightly different color settings. My collection hosts an example of each of the four combinations.
