Nerissa 058

The major difference in strength between both lenses is not only visible by Nerissa but also to her many viewers in twenty countries. The image of her right eye is much smaller than the image of her left eye. It's also clear that she can see well with her left eye only. Strange things can happen during a photo shoot....

But let's talk Christian Dior. When they launched their first collection of glasses in 1976, it created a shock wave in the world of design. Everything about the first Dior frames was innovative and even revolutionary. They used a new material called optyl. The frames were quite bold and they only came in red, in blue or in green. No attempt was made to choose a subtle color blend. The arms of the frames were straight and rather short. And last but not last, Dior was the very first brand who stamped its logo on the arms. Mind you, the abbreviation CD did not yet have the association with the world of music industry. Compact discs were already invented but not yet arrived on the market.

I was living and working in Switzerland when the first Dior collection arrived in the optician's shops and the effect was immediately seen in the streets. Swiss ladies had always been rather conservative in their frame choice. But within weeks the streets were full of girls and women sporting the ultra modern Dior glasses. It was a feast for the eye. I then checked the shop windows of some opticians and for sure, the Dior collection was dominating there as well. My life partner (and future wife) was with me and she did not need much persuasion to try some of the Dior frames. They were far above our budget but we bought a beautiful green pair for her anyway.
