Nerissa 042

Romeo & Juliet.... what a romantic brand name. These glasses were acquired in a very hospitable Welsh charity shop, shortly after the turn of the Millennium. The three old ladies who ran the shop were extremely helpful when they heard about my quest. A large crate was produced from the store room behind the shop and the ladies let us partake of their opinion on the merit of each frame. In many cases they also remembered the name of the woman who donated the glasses. My life partner and I spent well over an hour in the shop and we eventually left with dozens of vintage glasses. The Welsh are great people. Very friendly and helpful, not only in charity shops.
But let's return to beautiful Nerissa who looks lost in thought. Perhaps inspired by the brand name, perhaps reflecting on my story about the three old ladies in the charity shop. It would have been a waste to make this portrait smoother by retouching and editing so let the light speak. The expression on her face is priceless.
