Silhouette was one of the two absolute top brands in the 1970's and 1980's. At least in my opinion. Each new frame designed by Silhouette was a masterpiece in its own right. Here lovely Nerissa is showing one of the masterpieces. Silhouette is still going strong and they kindly met my request to put a year of manufacture on two dozen frames in my collection. This enabled me to extrapolate the age of the other 80 Silhouette pairs in my collection. Some caution is needed as the serial numbers don't always follow a strict chronology. The frame 1085 shown here could be from 1982 but also from 1979. The solid style of the frame is closer to 1979 so let's keep it at that. Nerissa is only the fourth model posing in these glasses, being preceded by Gita (042), Emilia from Dublin (155) and recently by Chanel in Germany. Note the perfect and rather original color blend.
