Priscilla 100
Precision work with an excellent result. This great portrait of five eyed Priscilla behind blended myodisc glasses marks the end of a pleasant afternoon in the nature conservation area. Priscilla is the 84th Lady behind Crystal Veil.
A word of praise for the model will follow soon!
Priscilla 099
"Of course not. You can take the glasses off now"
"But what if the scorpions sting me?"
"Ah, they are water scorpions. They never leave the area with the pools"
Priscilla 090
The final pair of Zenni glasses was bought two years ago. My expectation was that models would like the vivid colors in the eyebrow lines. Priscilla is the third model posing in them, being preceded by Cat from Paris and Nicci in Brighton. For your information, Priscilla is not taking a selfie!
Priscilla 087
"This is a nice place, Mr. Photographer, I like it!"
"My pleasure, Priscilla. And you look gorgeous in these glasses"
Priscilla 083
Always curious, Priscilla observed the illustration through powerful Zenni glasses with a style highly reminiscent of the mid 1970's. Shop windows....
Priscilla 082
All photos of Priscilla were taken in a nature conservation area called "Elsmoat". We stopped at a large illustration describing the often rare animal species living in this area.
Priscilla 080
"Hey Mr. Photographer, you have a twin!". Spontaneous initiatives from the model's side are always welcome during photo shoots.
Priscilla 077
I remember this moment well - snapping just in time to catch the expression. When the photo rolled out on my PC screen, a famous song by Mary Black went through my head. Always a good sign.
"While we seek myth and beauty and music bright and gay,
There are frail forms fainting at the door
Though their voices are silent, their pleading looks will say,
Oh hard times, come again no more
There's the song, the sigh of the weary,
Hard times, hard times, come again no more
Many days you have lingered around my cabin door,
Oh hard times, come again no more"
Priscilla 076
It did not take Priscilla long to get back into her stride after the break. Burgundy is of course a classic color for brunettes and the glasses suit her great.

Priscilla 075
Another splendid pair of Zenni glasses from the very start of my photography project. I always liked the trapezoid shape and the burgundy color. A dozen models shared my opinion and posed in them. The glasses surfaced again during my preparations for a series of photo shoots in Paris, two months after the attacks. A freelance model from Ukraine called Anna posed for me in front of a large mirror in a trendy boutique and these Zenni glasses were among the highlights.
Priscilla 073
Most models put on their own prescription glasses during a break, to give their eyes a bit of well deserved relaxation. Priscilla is blessed with perfect eyesight, no need for prescription glasses at all.
I took a couple of snapshots during the break and this portrait was simply too good to be left out. Excellent posing!
Priscilla 071
The only down side about being a tigress in strong glasses is that they can make one sleepy after a major effort in the jungle....
Priscilla 070
Of course there was no way for Priscilla to assess her looks in the Zenni glasses during the actual photo shoot. But both of us knew that this was a strong series. When Priscilla saw her photos, she declared this tigress portrait one of her favorites.
Priscilla 069
Anything can happen when a model fancies a special pair of glasses. Here Priscilla transforms herself into a tigress. Being a Lion myself, there was no need to shrink....
Priscilla 068
This was another pair of Zenni glasses that caught Priscilla's fancy straightaway. And in my opinion, she was absolutely right!
Priscilla 066
And for the record, my compliment to Priscilla was real. These glasses look as if they were made for her. Wonderful posing as well. It all went by itself. These are the rewarding moments....
Priscilla 063
Priscilla did not need any encouragement to try a bit of acting without any directions from my side. This is the wonderful stage when the blur has long become irrelevant and imagination takes over.
Priscilla 062
Another attractive Zenni frame that came in three colors: white, dark red and brown. The dark red version is nicknamed "Wall of Glass" and it has been featured in at least a dozen photo shoots. Inspired by the effect, I ordered this brown version as well.
Priscilla 060
Priscilla expressing her opinion about these pink and white glasses. When she saw them in the box, she said straightaway that she likes pink glasses. By the way, the house in the background has been nicknamed "Little Red Riding Hood" since my daughter was a child.
Priscilla 059
I really like this bit of acting boredom without any instructions from my side. Another natural, credible pose. Great!
Priscilla 058
Priscilla bravely went against the old school advice by opticians about suitable frame colors for blondes and for brunettes. The effect is really striking. Hat off for the direct look into the camera. There is no way of telling that these are not her own glasses.
Priscilla 054
The main problem for wearers of blended myodisc glasses was the reduced peripheral view. But this does not necessarily mean mean that the wearers were badly handicapped. I clearly remember seeing an attractive middle aged lady in blended myodisc glasses almost thirty years ago. She looked at ease, lively and self assured. The changing aspect of the lenses upon the slightest movement of her head was fascinating. Magic glasses.... Thank you, Priscilla for showing some of the most extraordinary effects!
Priscilla 053
This "en face" portrait shows the position of the circular central "bowls" (almost as dark as shades) and the surrounding carrier lenses that catch the light.
Priscilla 052
Patient Priscilla showing arguably the weirdest effect created by blended myodisc lenses - the lateral elongation of her right eye. This effect is caused by the magnifying carrier lens that surrounds the central "bowl" with its correction for extreme myopia.
Priscilla 051
Over the past three decades, I can only recall a handful of sightings but they were fascinating. No other lens type in the history of glasses produces such incredible effects.
